SciQuest Participates in President Obama’s Jobs Council Meeting

SciQuest CEO Stephen Wiehe Contributes to Roundtable Discussion as Part of the President's Council on Jobs and Competitiveness

CARY, N.C.--()--SciQuest, Inc., (NASDAQ: SQI) a leading provider of on-demand strategic procurement and supplier management solutions, today announced that its President and CEO Stephen Wiehe participated in President Obama's Council on Jobs and Competitiveness Listening and Action Session held on June 13 at the McKinney offices in Durham, NC.

In one of several sessions taking place on Monday, Wiehe and other local business leaders contributed ideas and experiences to the entrepreneurship-focused discussion. Wiehe and other business leaders presented ideas and discussed challenges to be overcome to promote job growth in North Carolina.

“Being one of the Research Triangle’s few technology IPOs in several years, SciQuest continues to build on its momentum as a leader in delivering eProcurement solutions that improve spend visibility and reduce purchasing costs,” said Wiehe. “To support our ongoing growth, SciQuest is currently hiring across a number of departments. We enjoyed participating in the President’s Jobs Council session and we look forward to implementing some of the ideas discussed there to generate new job opportunities across the region.”

SciQuest is a strong example of business success and job growth in North Carolina. The company is expanding and hiring in several key functions. Since the company’s initial public offering in September 2010, its powerful procurement products have helped it sustain strong financial performance and growth. SciQuest’s customers use its products to uncover significant savings in their procurement processes – millions of dollars in “spend savings.”

The Jobs Council’s “listening and action" sessions enable government officials to solicit feedback from across the country to create recommendations on future policy efforts. Comprised of experts from the public and private sectors, the Jobs Council was formed in January 2011 to encourage economic and job growth, while helping the United States become more competitive in the global economy.
