T-Mobile Appoints John Diefenbach as Vice President General Manager of New England to Oversee Local Sales and Operations

T-Mobile continues regionalization efforts with increased presence in Boston metro, Providence, R.I., and Hartford, Conn.

NEWTON, Mass.--()--As T-Mobile USA increases its presence in the greater New England area the company today appointed John Diefenbach as the first vice president general manager for the area, responsible for sales across all T-Mobile retail properties, customer growth and loyalty efforts. Diefenbach’s region consists of the states of New England, including Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island, Vermont and Massachusetts.

T-Mobile’s New England region consists of more than 90 T-Mobile-owned retail stores and more than 600 third-party locations such as independent dealers and national retailers. The company employs more than 850 employees in the region across Retail, Engineering, HR and other functions.

“John is a sales and service veteran and brings a wealth of knowledge about T-Mobile and the New England area to the position,” said William Robinson, senior vice president, east area, T-Mobile USA. “T-Mobile customers in this region are fortunate to have John driving all areas of our New England business and ensuring our local customers continue to receive the award-winning service they expect from T-Mobile.”

T-Mobile began its regionalization efforts early this year to enable local business owners to invest in and run their markets as individual business units. The local vice president general managers will also have the ability to influence network investment, store locations, customer offers and local marketing programs.

Since 2010, T-Mobile has made significant investments in its network infrastructure in the area, bringing 1,200 4G cell sites online and spending over $92 million in network improvements. In the past two years T-Mobile has increased the number of cell towers in the greater Boston network by ten percent.
