PORTSMOUTH, N.H.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--NitroSecurity, Inc., the leader in high-performance, content-aware security information and event management (SIEM) solutions, today announced its strategic OEM agreement with automation and worldwide process control leader Emerson Process Management, a global business of Emerson. The OEM agreement includes sophisticated technology integration between NitroSecurity’s NitroView solution and Emerson’s Ovation™ Security Center, as well as worldwide marketing, sales and support to strengthen the security and compliance solutions available to the global electric power industry.
For more than five decades, Emerson has helped the global power generation industry more effectively control critical processes, increase plant efficiencies and boost megawatt production. Renowned for quality, reliability and applications expertise, today its plant automation and control technologies support a significant portion of the world’s power generating capacity.
The Ovation expert control system’s existing security features and functionality, coupled with its tightly integrated Ovation Security Center, are part of Emerson’s ongoing and comprehensive commitment to providing customers with solutions that address evolving cyber security challenges. Through this agreement with NitroSecurity, Emerson has further enhanced the security capabilities of its Ovation system while also helping customers reduce the costs associated with evolving North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) standards compliance.
After a rigorous evaluation of SIEM offerings, Emerson Process Management selected NitroSecurity’s NitroView family for integration into Ovation Security Center, enabling centralized threat detection and management, and extensive compliance reporting. Throughout the evaluation process, NitroView proved itself as the only SIEM solution capable of supporting Emerson’s demanding real-time incidence response requirements for process control networks. Comprising SIEM, intrusion prevention system (IPS) and log management functionality, NitroView is the only integrated, end-to-end solution for monitoring control systems and cyber assets, designed to protect critical infrastructures and produce a clear audit trail of how critical assets are used, and what systems are at risk.
“NitroSecurity leads the industry in technology innovation for control system security and is uniquely qualified to help ensure the security of power generators worldwide,” said Ken Levine, CEO of NitroSecurity. “Emerson is a leader in embedding security into the industrial control infrastructure and has set a high standard for its Ovation Security Center. We are extremely proud of our ability to meet their exacting requirements for security and compliance, and confident that Emerson customers will reap the benefits.”
“The nature of our business requires uncompromising security in every way,” said Bob Yeager, president of Emerson Process Management’s Power & Water Solutions. “The technologies we integrate with Ovation must meet Emerson’s high standards of quality, performance and reliability. NitroSecurity has accomplished this, and we look forward to working closely with them to advance the state-of-the-art in security and compliance for our customers.”
