DUBLIN--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/0a3c1a/201011_virtualiza) has announced the addition of Nemertes Research's new report "2010-11 Virtualization Security Benchmark" to their offering.
Virtualization security has lagged behind overall adoption of virtualization, creating the possibility for security breaches in company data centers. Even though most companies have not conducted a formal assessment of the risk introduced by virtualization, they rate their security very highly.
The publisher recommends a more careful examination of virtualization security, expecting that virtualization technology will disrupt security models as much as it has disrupted operational practices, computing, networking and storage.
Top Trends:
- VirtSec adoption lagging. As virtualization adoption continues apace, virtualization security is lagging. Security solutions designed specifically to support, secure or be aware of virtualized infrastructure, are in use in just 3.8% of companies with virtualized systems. More than 80% of companies have no plans to adopt virtualization-specific security.
- VirtSec complacency rules. Companies self-rate the compliance and security of their virtual systems as mostly excellent or good. This despite the fact that they have not formally assessed their virtualization security and are not using any VirtSec tools. See no evil is the prevailing attitude.
