Veeva Systems Hires Paul Shawah as Vice President of Multichannel Strategy

Industry Veteran Joins Cloud Innovator to Ensure Customer Success in a Changing Environment

PLEASANTON, Calif.--()--As the global pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries intensify their multichannel marketing and selling efforts, Veeva Systems is investing to remain the chosen partner for CRM solutions. Today, the company announced the addition of Paul Shawah as the Vice President of Multichannel Strategy. In this role, Shawah will lead the company’s efforts in closed loop marketing (CLM), eDetailing, alternative sampling, customer portals, and call centers.

Shawah brings more than 15 years of experience in developing and delivering innovative technology solutions for the life sciences industry. Prior to joining Veeva, he served as vice president of the SAP Life Sciences Business Unit, where he managed global strategy and product direction for all SAP solutions developed and marketed into the life sciences industry. Shawah also held various senior product marketing and sales leadership roles at Siebel Systems and Proscape, while each of those companies was leading the Pharma CRM and CLM markets, respectively.

“Paul was instrumental in creating, selling, and implementing some of the pharmaceutical industry's largest CLM deployments, and this experience gives him the unique ability to look at CLM as one component of an overall multichannel marketing strategy,” explained Matt Wallach, chief strategy officer and founder at Veeva Systems. “Plus, he is one of the best and brightest in this industry, so I am personally thrilled to have him on the Veeva team.”

Today, Veeva has several multichannel product offerings. iRep is the first integrated Pharma CRM and CLM solution designed for the Apple iPad, and has gained tremendous traction since its announcement earlier this year. Additionally, Veeva CRM is built on the Force.com platform, allowing Veeva customers to seamlessly deploy Salesforce.com’s Service Cloud applications for call centers, customer portals, and collaboration within their Veeva environments.

“The speed at which Veeva has become the leader in the Pharma CRM market is staggering,” said Paul Shawah. “I look forward at the opportunity to extend such unprecedented market leadership into CLM and other important aspects of pharmaceutical sales and marketing with pioneering new solutions like iRep 2.”
