SHENZHEN, China--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ZTE Corporation (“ZTE”) (H share stock code: 0763.HK / A share stock code: 000063.SZ), a publicly-listed global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions, has announced contracts with Telenor Norway, Telenor Sweden and Telenor Denmark, to replace and expand the platforms for Voicemail, SMS, MMS, Location Based Services and WAP GW.
ZTE will upgrade the existing platforms to an integrated platform solution that enables the services to share hardware and capacity resources. ZTE’s innovative iVAS (Integrated Value Added Service) solution minimises CAPEX through dynamic capacity allocation and reduces OPEX through decreased power consumption and centralised operations.
“This agreement marks ZTE’s breakthrough of infrastructure products into the home markets of Telenor and we are obviously proud of being awarded this contract as Value Added Services is a strategic part of the operator’s network. Through our advanced iVAS solution, we aim to help Telenor launch new and exciting services in a more efficient way for their customer,” says Kenneth Fredriksen, GM of ZTE’s Telenor Business Unit.
During the last year ZTE has developed a significant partnership with the Telenor Group. In April 2011, Digi selected ZTE as their new single supplier for their new 2G/3G/4G network radio, core and transmission network. Last year, ZTE was also selected as the single supplier of Telenor Hungary’s new 2G/3G/4G radio and core network. This project is now under construction while ZTE has already built a unified GSM/UMTS/LTE network in Montenegro and GSM networks in India for the Telenor Group.
