Cantor Fitzgerald & Co Adds Equity Securities Lending Team Within Prime Services Group

NEW YORK--()--Cantor Fitzgerald & Co. announced today the addition of a new Equity Securities Lending team within the Cantor Prime Services Group, with the hiring of Securities Lending veterans Allen Wolkow and Janah Angelou, who will co-manage the effort. Mr. Wolkow and Ms. Angelou were co-founders of Hedge Source LLC, a Securities Lending consulting firm for hedge funds.

“Adding these experienced professionals deepens our relationships with our current client base and expands the universe of clients we can attract,” stated Noel Kimmel, Senior Managing Director and Global Head of Prime Services at Cantor Fitzgerald. “Allen and Janah have a proven track record and have both built and managed securities lending businesses during their respective careers that were widely recognized within the industry for outstanding execution and exceptional client service. Their experience and breadth of relationships in this marketplace, combined with Cantor’s financial strength, are tremendous assets as we continue to expand the capabilities we offer Prime Services’ clients.”

“We are thrilled to join the Cantor Prime Services team,” Mr. Wolkow and Ms. Angelou said in a joint statement. “This is an exciting time in the hedge fund marketplace with great opportunities to deliver value added services for our clients. The Equity Securities Lending team enhances Cantor Prime Services’ efforts to create a seamless platform and single point of contact for hedge funds. We look forward to helping Prime Services build an even greater market franchise by continuously addressing our clients’ needs and developing services that meet their requirements.”

This recent hiring comes on the heels of the announcement last month that both the management team of PCS Dunbar Securities and the majority of its clients had joined Cantor Fitzgerald’s Prime Services Group. This transaction added a number of talented professionals to the Prime Services’ team, expanded the client roster, and expanded the buy side trading oft-dollar capabilities.

Mr. Wolkow joins Cantor Fitzgerald with over 35 years of experience in the financial industry. As CEO and founding partner of Hedge Source LLC, he worked directly with fund managers and traders, optimized their current rebates and assisted them with locating and sourcing “hard to borrow” securities. Prior to Hedge Source, he served as Managing Director at Ramius Capital Group where he created and co-managed a multibillion dollar Securities Lending Department. Previously, Mr. Wolkow established the Securities Lending departments at investment management firm Lipper & Company. Earlier, Mr. Wolkow was a General Partner in charge of Options at Janney Montgomery Scott. He received a B.A. in Economics from Brooklyn College and served in the US Marine Corps Reserve.

Prior to joining Cantor Fitzgerald, Ms. Angelou served as COO and founding partner of Hedge Source LLC, where she also directly assisted fund managers and traders with current rebates and hard to borrow securities. Previously, Ms. Angelou was a Vice President for the Securities Lending Department at Ramius Capital Group where she served as liaison between multiple Prime Brokers and Portfolio managers. She began her career as a Securities Lending sales representative at Lipper and Company, LLC. Ms. Angelou holds a B.A. in Communications from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
