LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Los Angeles-based developer J.H. Snyder Company announced today that industry veteran Lewis Geyser has returned to the firm as Senior Partner, with responsibility for developing financing packages and joint venture relationships. Geyser, who has more than 40 years of real estate and legal experience, rejoins J.H. Snyder as the Southern California market gears up for new development.
“Lew’s talents as a lawyer and finance expert played a big role in our company’s spectacular growth over the past four decades,” said Jerry Snyder, Founder and Senior Partner, J.H. Snyder Company. “His history of success in this industry and his unique ability to lead will also serve as key assets for J.H. Snyder Company as we move forward. We are thrilled to have him back on the team.”
In addition to structuring the framework of several joint venture agreements between J.H. Snyder and other real estate ventures, Geyser has provided indispensable legal and financial advice for the complex, large-scale projects J.H. Snyder Company spearheaded over the years, most notably Coronado Shores, Ocean Towers, Beverly Glen Park, Glenridge, Wilshire Courtyard and the first Water Garden development.
Geyser was responsible for establishing the L and S Mortgage Company, a subsidiary of J.H. Snyder Company that has been a valuable conduit for millions of dollars of the developer’s projects. He also spearheaded the creation of L and S Property Management Company, which now supervises several of the company’s multifamily apartment complexes.
During his hiatus, Geyser took an especially active role in community service and local philanthropy. He currently serves as an Ambassador of Arts and Lectures for the University of California, Santa Barbara and is a member of the Board of Directors for the American Friends of the New Acropolis Museum. Geyser also established a professorship and a scholar fund at his alma mater, Harvard University.
Geyser graduated cum laude from Harvard, and received a J.D. degree from Columbia University. A member of the New York, California and Hawaii Bar Associations, Geyser was a partner in the Los Angeles law firm of Pacht, Ross, Warne, Bernhard and Sears before joining J.H. Snyder in a major capacity in 1969.
