PatientKeeper Adds Hospital CIOs and EHR Experts to Leadership Team of Expanded Professional Services Organization

New regional vice presidents bring extensive IT and healthcare expertise to growing physician health information systems company

WALTHAM, Mass.--()--PatientKeeper®, Inc., the leading provider of physician health information systems, today announced the addition of three regional vice presidents to lead the company’s growing Professional Services organization. PatientKeeper’s new executives have extensive industry experience as CIOs of hospitals and with major hospital back-end systems including MEDITECH, McKesson, Epic, Siemens, and Eclipsys.

The three new regional vice presidents are Lori DeLone, former CIO at Halifax Health, a $500 million not-for-profit health system in East Central Florida; Joe Diver, most recently vice president and CIO at Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown, N.Y.; and Bill Dwyer, a 20-year healthcare IT services veteran. All will be responsible for strategic collaboration with and service delivery for PatientKeeper clients in specific geographic regions of the U.S.

Lori DeLone

Lori DeLone will work with PatientKeeper clients in the Southeast region. Most recently, DeLone was responsible for providing comprehensive technology services for 3,800 team members and 700 doctors at Halifax Health in Daytona Beach, FL. Her accomplishments included leading a multi-year, system-wide eHalifax EHR initiative, culminating with Halifax being recognized in December 2009 as one of only 147 hospitals in the country to receive the Stage 6 HIMSS Analytics EMR Adoption award.

“My experience driving technology deployment and adoption within a large community healthcare setting helps me stand in the customer’s shoes,” DeLone said. “When I advise and support PatientKeeper’s customers, I do so with a first-hand appreciation of the challenges they face and the environment in which they operate.”

Joe Diver

Joe Diver will collaborate with PatientKeeper clients throughout the Midwest. Diver’s expertise implementing physician-facing systems for hospitals, and his experience working with MEDITECH, Epic, and McKesson hospital information systems, will be directly applicable to his new assignment at PatientKeeper.

Prior to his tenure at Basset Healthcare – a network of five hospitals, 25 physician clinics and 16 school-based health centers that employs nearly 300 physicians – Diver was the vice president and CIO of Berkshire Health Systems in Pittsfield, Mass. At Berkshire Health, he directed implementation of an electronic health record system, designed and implemented a $4.5 million data center, restructured the information systems service of the entire organization, and implemented PatientKeeper. Earlier in his career, Diver served as the senior manager of information systems for Cape Cod Healthcare in Hyannis, Mass., and led the implementation of a MEDITECH system for Columbia HCA.

“To me, technology is only 25 percent of the equation,” Diver said. “The other 75 percent is what a hospital does with technology to improve patient care. I look forward to working with healthcare facilities to help physicians, and all stakeholders, to become more efficient and effective.”

Bill Dwyer

Bill Dwyer will lead PatientKeeper’s services operations in the Western U.S. His background includes service delivery and support management positions at SMS/Siemens and Eclipsys/Allscripts. Dwyer has built and led implementation and consulting teams delivering financial and clinical solutions to the healthcare IT market. His strong leadership and experience in quality assurance and account management will help establish a solid foundation in support of effective service delivery.

“These are exciting times in our industry and PatientKeeper is well positioned to offer its customers a distinct advantage: the ability to realize measurable value quickly. I look forward to the opportunity to help our customers achieve their goals,” Dwyer said.

All three new regional vice presidents of services report to Phil Gaudette, PatientKeeper’s vice president of services. Also reporting to Gaudette are two other newly promoted regional vice presidents: Lisa Sherwin, who manages PatientKeeper’s relationship with HCA; and Jeff Pagnini, who is responsible for the Northeast region.

“The talented corps of regional leaders we’ve recruited to run our growing services organization is a valuable asset both to PatientKeeper and to our customers,” Gaudette said. “Our goal is to continually exceed our clients’ expectations – not only when we install a system, but also as we evolve customers’ PatientKeeper implementations over time to meet their changing organizational needs.”

PatientKeeper CEO Paul Brient said PatientKeeper’s revamped services organization will be a key to driving the company’s growth over the next several years. “Our technology and products lead the industry in terms of physician adoption, which is the name of the game,” Brient said. “Our services organization is where the rubber meets the road – or, literally, where the products meet the customers. I am excited to welcome such talented and experienced leaders to our organization. They form the foundation of a structure that will support our growth and ensure that customers derive maximum value from their PatientKeeper solutions.”
