HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Encore Health Resources, a leader in advanced information technology services for the global healthcare industry, announced today that it has named Thomas (Tom) J. Niehaus as its Executive Vice President for Client Services. Mr. Niehaus joins Encore from CTG, where he was formerly president of CTG Healthcare Solutions (CTGHS).
In his new role, Mr. Niehaus will leverage Encore’s deep experience in business intelligence and analytics to help clients find new ways to navigate today’s unprecedented environment of healthcare reform – an environment where new payment and delivery models such as the accountable care organization will increasingly tie provider reimbursements to quality metrics and reductions in the total cost of care.
”Encore’s rapid success over just two years bears strong testimony to its leaders’ strategies and vision, which recognize that today’s rush to meet federal electronic-health-record (EHR) ‘meaningful-use’ requirements is just the beginning of a much broader story of reform and competitive survival,” said Niehaus. “In such a dynamic change environment, I look forward to joining the Encore team – to contributing insights that can help our clients meet EHR use requirements in the short term and differentiate themselves for the long term, leveraging the power of data analytics to drive higher levels of care quality, business insight, and performance efficiencies.”
Mr. Niehaus brings to his new position more than 20 years of executive experience in HIT, sales and marketing, and strategic planning. He joined CTG in 1999 as managing director of CTGHS, a new division created when CTG acquired Elumen Solutions, a company which Mr. Niehaus originally co-founded under the name Exemplar Systems. He was named president of the division in 2003. Before his work at Exemplar, he served for nine years at IBAX Healthcare Systems – now part of McKesson – where he was national manager of that firm’s Technical Services organization.
“Tom brings a personal drive for quality that is a perfect match for Encore’s commitment to total client satisfaction and to the achievement of 100% referenceability in everything we do,” said Dana Sellers, President and CEO, Encore Health Resources. “In addition, Tom’s proven talents as a leader and his astute strategic insights on healthcare industry transformation will help Encore continue to innovate and promote client success through improved processes, enabling technology, and the insights that come from business intelligence.”
