Democrat Dan Adler Files to Run in California's 36th Congressional District Special Election

Entrepreneur Promises a Fresh Voice and a Better Choice for District

LOS ANGELES--()--Dan Adler, the founder and principal of new media company Media Eagles, has entered the special election for Representative of California’s 36th Congressional District.

An accomplished executive, entrepreneur, and producer who started his career in the mailroom at Creative Artists Agency (CAA), Mr. Adler has a long history of integrating talent and technology to launch new initiatives and companies.

“I’m running for Congress because I believe this special election gives the voters of the 36th District a unique opportunity to elect someone other than a product of the political machine,” said Mr. Adler. “Make no mistake: a Democrat is going to win this race, but I am running to give the voters a new choice: a business person whose skills, innate optimism, entrepreneurial spirit, and career-long history of building bridges and driving compromise are the qualities needed to bring people together to solve the difficult problems that face our nation and our people.

“I’m a hard-working guy, fighting for the issues I believe in, raising a family, and building a business. I believe that the values I hold dear -- family, faith, service, and integrity -- are the core values the people of the 36th District are looking for in their representative to Congress.”

Mr. Adler has helped countless individuals and companies realize their business and artistic visions. His proven abilities in the worlds of business, technology and talent provide a unique platform from which to launch businesses, build consensus, and re-imagine large-scale philanthropic projects.

As Vice President/Creative Development for Walt Disney Imagineering, he fostered Imagineering’s relationships with the creative, technical and business communities and was one of the key architects of the Disney/ABC vision at the advent of Internet and television convergence.

As founder of Media Eagles, he provides high-level strategic thinking to a wide range of Hollywood and global clients. He was responsible for the funding and production of an award-winning and groundbreaking, star-studded campaign of 38 short films called “Burma: It Can’t Wait” in support of the people of Burma; it generated considerable financial and public opinion support for the release of Nobel Peace Laureate Aung San Suu Kyi. He is involved in a wide range of charitable and political causes, with particular focus on education, youth activism, public health and the Middle East peace, including Teach for America/LA, the Human Rights Action Center, Communities in Schools, Seeds of Peace, the American Jewish Committee, Ryman Arts, and the Harvard School of Public Health’s Center for Health Communication.

A devoted family man and husband, Mr. Adler and his wife Jenna have two young sons enrolled in the LA United School District.

Adler concluded, “The 36th is home to some of this country’s most talented people, most innovative companies, and the most beautiful natural resources on earth," Adler said. "It deserves a new kind of leader -- a representative indebted to no one -- to help reshape the cumbersome and overly-partisan legislative system in Washington while ensuring that the district's constituents benefit from more economic growth and a higher quality of life. I look forward to earning their trust and their votes.”
