About the Greater Boston Chapter of the National Spinal Cord Injury Association
For 19 years, the Greater Boston Chapter (GBC) of the National Spinal Cord Injury Association has served thousands of individuals across Massachusetts and New England by offering them the hope that they need to live successful, fulfilling lives after a life-altering spinal cord injury/disease. Once thought to be incurable, research scientists now believe that stem cells and other therapies will offer a cure in the future. Until that time arrives, the Greater Boston Chapter remains focused on helping those with spinal cord injuries stay healthy both physically and mentally.
Every year in Massachusetts more than 300 people suffer a spinal cord injury/disease. Through its Early Intervention Program, GBC staff members personally visit patients and their families, offering resources, vital information, volunteer peer visitors, advocacy and education.
