MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Target® Corp. (NYSE: TGT) today announced its partnership with GRAMMY and Academy® Award-winning singer and actress Jennifer Hudson for the exclusive, deluxe edition of her second studio album, I Remember Me. The deluxe edition, including four additional new songs and bonus video material, will be available only at Target stores nationwide and on Target.com beginning March 22.
“Creating this album was an amazing, personal journey for me,” said Hudson. “It is especially meaningful to be able to share more of my music with my fans on the Target deluxe edition of I Remember Me.”
The Target deluxe edition of the album includes the title track, “I Remember Me,” which is based on a poem written by Hudson and composed into a song co-written by Ryan Tedder. Additional tracks include: “Where You At” (Dave Audé Remix); “The Star Spangled Banner” (live); “What You Think” and “Spotlight,” an Afroganic Remix. Twenty-five minutes of bonus video footage includes an inside look at Hudson’s album cover photo shoot, and behind-the-scenes footage of the making of I Remember Me, including commentary from Hudson on her inspiration for the new album.
“Jennifer Hudson, rightly known as ‘The Voice,’ is an innovative, dynamic artist,” said John Butcher, vice president of Entertainment for Target. “She is widely acclaimed for her work as a singer and actress, and this album certainly showcases her wide-range of talents.”
Known for her R&B and contemporary stylings, Hudson is a versatile and accomplished performer. She won a GRAMMY Award for Best R&B Album for her self-titled 2008 studio album and an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the 2007 hit film “Dreamgirls,” which put her on the short-list of performers who have won an Oscar for a debut screen performance. I Remember Me is the follow-up to Hudson’s self-titled debut album, which featured two hit singles that climbed to the top of the Billboard charts: “Spotlight,” which hit No. 1 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart and “If This Isn’t Love,” which peaked at No. 5. Jennifer Hudson debuted at No. 2 on Billboard’s Top 200 Albums and R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts.
