Bytemobile Secures Its 36th Video Optimization Win for Mobile Network Operator Deployment

Bytemobile’s Unison Smart Capacity Platform Deployed in Networks Reaching Over 2 Billion Mobile Subscribers Worldwide

CTIA WIRELESS 2011

SANTA CLARA, Calif.--()--Bytemobile, Inc., the leading provider of Smart Capacity™ solutions for mobile network operators, today announced it has closed 36 video optimization wins for deployment across mobile network operators in Europe, the Middle East, Asia Pacific, and the United States. This milestone validates the critical need for Smart Capacity solutions to help improve network performance and subscriber experience over 3G and 4G networks. Bytemobile has live deployments of its video solution in the networks of 21 operators worldwide – with a contractual commitment of 15 additional deployments as of March 1, 2011. The company’s Unison™ Smart Capacity platform has been deployed with over 125 operators in 60 countries, serving more than 2 billion subscribers worldwide.

Video Traffic to Intensify with LTE

Bytemobile’s 1Q 2011 Mobile Minute Metrics report shows that network traffic will continue to increase as more subscribers become accustomed to improved device and network performance, coupled with improved screen quality and heightened expectations of access to video communications anywhere, anytime.

“While next-generation network technology offers greater cell capacity, and faster speeds for end-users, increasing demand for data and bandwidth-intensive applications will continue to consume available bandwidth,” said Peter Jarich, Service Director with Current Analysis. “Operators will evaluate and deploy various data offload and small cell technologies to meet this demand. Ultimately, where the aim is controlling network operating expenses and defer new capital expenditures for infrastructure, they will only be a partial solution and will be joined by optimization solutions.”

“We’re pleased by our global market leadership for video optimization and encouraged by the increasing importance of optimization as reflected in the number of large vendors entering our space,” said Ronny Haraldsvik, vice president of Global Marketing at Bytemobile. “With a decade of technological innovation and customer relationships with major operators worldwide, we look forward to continued growth and validation of our technology leadership.”

Bytemobile will be at International CTIA Wireless 2011, March 22-24, in Orlando, Florida (MR-237). To schedule a meeting, contact: sales@bytemobile.com.

Chris Koopmans, vice president of Product Development at Bytemobile, will speak on the Path to 4G panel session, Optimizing Video for 4G, at CTIA, on Tuesday, March 22, at 1:30 p.m.
