NVCA Chair Kate Mitchell Delivers Pepperdine University Venture Capital Industry View, March 17

LOS ANGELES--()--Kate Mitchell, Managing Director with Scale Venture Partners and Chair of the National Venture Capital Association, will deliver the address “Venture Capital Viewpoints: What and How” at the Dean’s Executive Leadership Series, announced Pepperdine University’s Graziadio School of Business and Management. The annual speaker series continues Thursday, March 17, 2011, 5:30-8:00 p.m., at Shutters on the Beach, One Pico Blvd., Santa Monica, CA. Admission is $20. “Kate will share her thoughts about the venture capital industry today, highlighting industry trends and investment areas and venture capital success stories,” said Linda A. Livingstone, Ph.D., dean of Pepperdine’s Graziadio School. “Kate also will cover the economic impact of venture investing on our economy, and she'll offer some practical advice for would-be entrepreneurs.”

Scale Venture Partners is a venture capital fund with over $900 million under management located in Silicon Valley. Mitchell leads investments in software and business services, and brings more than 25 years of experience in technology, finance and management to her portfolio teams. She is the Chairman of the National Venture Capital Association (NVCA) and a member of its executive committee. She is actively involved with regulatory and economic policy impacting the venture capital industry. Mitchell was a Senior Vice President responsible for the development and launch of Bank of America's Internet banking services.
