The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ Signs a Memorandum of Understanding with Bancolombia

BOGOTA, Colombia--()--The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ (BTMU), the largest financial institution in Japan, announced today the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Bancolombia, the largest commercial bank in Colombia, to explore opportunities for business collaboration. This agreement signals BTMU’s renewed operations in the region, and specifically its interest in Colombia. Through this new collaboration with Bancolombia, BTMU expects to enhance its business presence in the region, improving its ability to serve the interests of Colombia’s business community.

BTMU is positioning the Andean region as a key element of its strategy for the Americas and plans to devote significant staff and financial resources building upon BTMU’s over 30-year history of operations in Colombia. This is a long-term commitment to continued investment, both in Colombia and the region.

The MOU with Bancolombia will constitute one of the core elements of BTMU’s strategy. The signing ceremony took place in Bancolombia’s Bogota offices and the document was signed by Mauricio Rosillo, representing Bancolombia, and Masaaki Tanaka, BTMU CEO for the Americas.
