SALT LAKE CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Central Logic, the healthcare industry’s leading provider of innovative patient flow software and consultative expertise, today announced today announced that the Glendale, Colo.-based Continental Division of Hospital Corporation of America (HCA)®, the world’s largest private medical organization, has selected and implemented both Central Logic ForeFront™ and Central Logic Insight™ across its regional network of hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, diagnostic imaging facilities, and emergency care operations.
Additionally, Central Logic also announced HCA Continental will use the two software applications to oversee and administer patient flow within its recently-established regional transfer center, a state-of-the-art operation that provides ground and air patient transportation to and from all HCA-owned hospitals, and all other healthcare facilities, in the division’s service region of Colorado, Kansas, and Oklahoma. Now found in increasing numbers of healthcare systems nationwide, a patient transfer center is a strategic business function that efficiently orchestrates the movements of acute care patients, allows hospitals to handle more inbound and outbound patient movements, and results in higher-quality medical care and staff productivity. Financial terms of the engagement were not disclosed.
Provided as hosted and integrated enterprise solutions, Central Logic ForeFront and Central Logic Insight enable HCA Continental to more effectively administer often-complex patient transfer procedures, and coordinate personnel schedules in real time, respectively. Working together, both products reduce the costs associated with these activities and providing higher-quality care and service to inbound and outbound patients. The organization intends to use the applications throughout its entire portfolio of medical facilities in the three states.
“Like many other large regional health systems throughout the country, HCA Continental is now in a position where it must efficiently and securely manage increasing numbers of patient transfers annually, but with limited financial and human resources to do so effectively, and with the same high level of promised care and service expected by any HCA facility or operation,” said Darin Vercillo, MD, co-founder and chief executive officer of Central Logic, and a practicing hospital physician. “This is a difficult proposition, even for the most savvy, experienced healthcare administrator. Fortunately, Central Logic ForeFront and Central Logic Insight are ideal, cost-effective solutions which meet all of these requirements, exceed expectations, and generate significant return on investment, regardless of the medical environment’s size or type. For these reasons, HCA Continental, along with numerous other healthcare networks, are eagerly deploying these software applications to administer patient transfer activities and manage complicated personnel schedules, and are deriving significant value from doing so.”
The HCA Continental contract follows the announcement of recently-secured engagements with other hospitals and healthcare systems, including Santa Clara Valley Medical Center in San Jose, Calif. and Springfield, Ill.-based St. John’s Hospital, an affiliate of Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS).
Central Logic ForeFront is a powerful, easy-to-use Web-based software application designed to streamline patient flow between medical facilities, and securely capture and deliver critical patient movement information to physicians and hospital administrative personnel. In addition, the product gives hospital and medical staff the ability to simultaneously and efficiently manage all types of patient transfers, quickly correlate patient admissions, and facilitate swift, accurate decisions based on individual patient needs, doctor availability, and the facility’s bandwidth to accommodate new patients.
Central Logic Insight is a complementary software product that manages personnel scheduling in real time, and facilitates secure telecommunications between medical staff. Formerly known as Scheduler Pro, Central Logic Insight provides healthcare organizations with an effective means of simplifying the time-intensive and often cumbersome process of combining, typing, re-typing, printing, and distributing paper on-call schedules for physicians and other hospital staff members.
