DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SoftLayer Technologies®, in partnership with Parallels®, today announced the availability of Parallels Automation on-Demand (PAoD), integrating the industry-leading Parallels Automation Suite (PAS) with SoftLayer’s fully-automated infrastructure to create a ready-to-go cloud service delivery solution.
The end-to-end cloud platform provides immediate access to hundreds of already integrated cloud application services, radically cutting the time, risk, and expense of getting cloud services to market. Available in easy-to-order packages or customized for large-scale deployments, its power and flexibility make it ideal for customers of all sizes—from large ISPs and Telcos to SMBs, resellers, and independent software developers.
“The integration of Parallels Automation on-Demand and the SoftLayer fully-automated infrastructure creates a platform that’s ready to go, and ready to scale,” said George Karidis, CSO of SoftLayer. “Whoever you are, this gets you into the cloud business first to market—and with industry-leading reliability and manageability.”
“We are extremely pleased to leverage SoftLayer’s expertise and scale in providing infrastructure services,” said Jack Zubarev, President, Marketing and Alliances, of Parallels. “This partnership eliminates most barriers to entry for new cloud players, and enables existing hosting and cloud providers to take their business to the next level.”
“SoftLayer and Parallels have taken the end-to-end implementation and management burden off the shoulders of existing cloud service providers, as well as any business wanting to enter the cloud service market,” said Charles Nix, Director of Marketing for ZipServers. ZipServers will be one of SoftLayer’s first customers to deploy the new offering. “This brings us a significant opportunity to rapidly diversify our product portfolio, gain finer control of operations and, as a result, increase revenue per user.”
PAS is a multi-tier control panel that provides a wide range of automated services, helping increase productivity and profitability. Its capabilities include:
- Management of the core platform infrastructure
- Streamlined delivery and management of 250 (and counting) application services, such as Microsoft Hosted Exchange, Microsoft SharePoint, and Open-Xchange
- Administration of end-customer accounts
- End-customer control panels for managing their individual account and services
Parallels Automation on-Demand’s automated infrastructure has a modular design consisting of core services (the infrastructure and software running the suite itself) and individual module servers (the infrastructure and software for each end-customer service a reseller wishes to offer). Module servers can be added directly through PAS and are deployed on demand without changing the core services, providing rapid and near-endless scalability.
