Verdasys Concludes Successful Year, Well-Positioned for Further Growth in 2011

Success highlighted by new management team, key customers wins and increased security spending to protect from WikiLeaks type Insider Threats

WALTHAM, Mass.--()--Verdasys, the leader in Enterprise Information Protection (EIP) solutions for Global 2000 companies, today announced the close of another successful year. The second half of 2010 was highlighted by significant new customer wins, key product releases and the successful build out of a new management team. Growing significantly throughout the year, Verdasys’ second half 2010 bookings increased by more than 50% over the first half of the year and the company beat expectations in Q4 having one of its best quarterly bookings on record. The company operated profitably for the entire year.

With over 24 customers wins in Q3 and Q4 alone, bookings for the year showed solid grow fueled by new customers particularly in the hi-tech sector. New wins included one of Europe’s leading hi-tech and manufacturing conglomerates, one of Canada’s leaders in aviation technology and one of the world’s largest acrylic, optics and LCD producers located in Asia. Protection of intellectual property and trade secrets continues to be a critical mission for Verdasys and our customers. The company ended the year with 205 customers including many of the world’s largest automotive, aerospace, pharmaceutical, chemical, electronics, energy, finance, and insurance companies, as well as some major government organizations.

Verdasys delivered three major releases of Digital Guardian, our industry leading EIP platform, in 2010 with deployments growing by more than 500,000 seats. Other notable operational achievements include OEM arrangements and completed integration with Fidelis Security’s XPS solution and Attivio’s AIE platform. These integrations are redefining the EIP space and extending data protection from first generation “Content Aware DLP” to a market that includes the emerging data threats of privileged insiders and advanced persistent threats (APT) to data from outsiders. Verdasys continues to lead the way in understanding the critical threats that face global 2000 companies and deliver practical and effective solutions to mitigate those threats. New product capabilities include support of Windows 7, 32 & 64 bit systems as well as Windows Server 2008 R2, extending our full Digital Guardian data protection capabilities to VM and VDI environments, and enhancing data discovery and classification integration with Microsoft SharePoint.

Facing the pressures of new threats like WikiLeaks (Insider Threat) and APT, and market changes like globalization, and an explosion of information, organizations today are being forced to rethink their information risk management strategies. Companies are looking for a holistic, enterprise-wide approach to information protection that is no longer driven by the false pretext of regulatory compliance. The result of this strategy shift highlights Verdasys success in helping the world’s largest companies implement their EIP strategy.

"We believe that 2011 will be the year that enterprise EIP platforms go mainstream. Verdasys is perfectly positioned for this opportunity as the only company with a fully integrated product offering, large installed base of EIP platform customers and the most experience in successfully implementing information protection solutions for global 2000 companies,” said Jim Ricotta, the new CEO of Verdasys. “I continue to build out my management team adding a VP of European Sales, Donough O’Callaghan, a VP of North American Sales, Craig Besler, a VP of Federal Sales, Bob Mclernon and a variety of new managers in all areas of the organization as we look to capitalize on the incredible opportunity to deliver valuable solutions to a rapidly increasing number of customers in 2011.”
