SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Music industry veteran Randy Irwin has been named President of Skyscraper Entertainment Ventures Inc. by Founder/Chairman Brent D. Stiefel. Skyscraper is a diversified media company whose primary operations include; film production house Two Tall Boots (Stephen Gyllenhaal's Grassroots), label/publisher Turnout (Brite Futures, Hey Champ), Venture Capital fund Sidearm Group (Big Live, Onto Entertainment), strategic marketers Backbeat Industries, and talent firm Departure Artist Management (Brite Futures, Letters and Lights).
Irwin will oversee the daily operations of all company holdings, in addition to identifying and evaluating investment opportunities to achieve the company's goals in furthering the careers of artists and the creation of groundbreaking work in all media. Irwin has held senior executive positions at Sony Music Entertainment/Epic Records Group in New York and has worked with artists in a wide array of genres including Ben Folds, Tenacious D, Oasis and Celine Dion followed by his role as Vice President/Marketing & International Business Consultant at CDA Productions during Dion’s record breaking run in Las Vegas. In 2007, he launched Departure Media in Seattle where he served in a consulting role for some of the music world's favorite indie darlings; Arctic Monkeys, Travis and Brite Futures.
