WEN North Texas Chapter Announces 2011 Board of Directors

DALLAS--()--Mark D. Whitley, Senior Vice President, Permian and Engineering Technology at Range Resources Corp., will be the guest speaker at the February luncheon meeting of the Women’s Energy Network (WEN) – North Texas Chapter on Thursday, February 24, in Fort Worth. The event will be held from noon to 1:30 p.m. at City Club of Fort Worth, 301 Commerce Street, President’s Room, 4th floor. Visit City Club’s website for driving directions: http://www.cityclub-ftw.com/.

Whitley will discuss the technical evaluations used to explore, discover, produce and develop onshore shale natural gas reservoirs during his presentation entitled “Evolution of a Shale Play – Exploration to Commerciality.” His presentation will be followed by a question-and-answer session.

“We are privileged to have Mr. Whitley speak to our chapter. During his distinguished career, Mr. Whitley has gained in-depth experience working with shale plays, so he will bring incomparable expertise to our audience. Most notably, he led Mitchell Energy’s team of engineers when they applied new stimulation techniques to unlock the shale gas potential in the Fort Worth Basin. This resulted in the Barnett Shale being one of the largest onshore natural gas fields in the United States. We look forward to hearing Mr. Whitley discuss shale plays, which are revolutionizing the energy industry and providing more secure home-grown energy resources in this country,” said Christina Kitchens, WEN North Texas President.

The cost for WEN North Texas members to attend the event is $30 if they register through Thursday, February 17, and $35 thereafter. The cost for prospective members is $45 if they register for the event through February 17, and $50 thereafter.
