FRANKFORT, Ky.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Employers in the Commonwealth of Kentucky now have the option to pay unemployment taxes online using a credit card, thanks to an ongoing commitment at the Office of Employment and Training (OET) to better serve employers and the Commonwealth. By adding credit card payments to their online offering, OET has ensured they are aligned with the needs of a segment of employers who are both tech-savvy and cash-flow conscious.
“We continue to strive to better serve employers, and believe this option will benefit both employers and the Commonwealth by eliminating the need to write a check and simplifying the payment process,” said Unemployment Insurance Director Allen Larson.
Since June of 2008, OET has partnered with Kentucky.gov to provide employers with an online tax payment service using ACH Debit. OET has continued to see increased usage of the online service. In 2010, adoption increased by more than 150 percent.
While OET still receives a large number of unemployment tax payments by paper check, OET is seeing an increase in employers wanting, and moving to, online payments as a fast, secure, and cost-effective alternative to paper checks. Employers interested in using OET’s online payment services can visit http://oet.ky.gov for more information.
