SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Leap Wireless International, Inc. (NASDAQ: LEAP), a leading provider of innovative and value-driven wireless communications services, today announced the appointment of Raymond J. Roman as executive vice president and chief operating officer, effective today. In his role, Mr. Roman’s responsibilities will include overseeing the Company’s marketing, network operations, customer care and retention and supply chain management. Mr. Roman succeeds Al Moschner who retired from the Company, effective January 31, 2011.
Roman, 44, brings more than 20 years of operational and managerial experience, including significant experience in wireless telecommunications and technology. Mr. Roman most recently held several senior executive positions at Dell Inc. starting in 2007, first running global service and operations, software and peripherals for the consumer division and then sales, operations and service for the mobility division. From 2001 to 2007, he held several senior level positions at Motorola, Inc., including serving as senior vice president, global sales and operations for mobile device business. From 1989 to 2001, Mr. Roman served in a number of senior operating and finance roles at companies including Ameritech Corporation and Kraft Foods, Inc.

Mr. Roman graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelors of Science degree in finance and holds a Masters of Business Administration in marketing and finance from the University of Chicago.
