ROCKVILLE, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Micro Focus®, the leading provider of enterprise application modernization, testing and management solutions, has hired Seth Braverman as Vice President of Sales for its Application Management and Quality (AMQ) software business in North America and Chris Livesey as Vice President of Sales for its AMQ software business in EMEA and Latin America. Both Braverman and Livesey report to Micro Focus’ President and General Manager of AMQ, Rich Novak. These new hires bring powerhouse talent to this rapidly expanding and priority market for Micro Focus in 2011. Following the acquisitions of Borland Software Corporation and the Testing/Automated Software Quality business of Compuware in 2009, Micro Focus has built up a strong product portfolio in the area of continuous quality assurance, and is poised for growth with the addition of Braverman and Livesey.
Braverman is responsible for sales of Micro Focus’ testing and management solutions in North America and will oversee efforts to continue to grow the business in this key region. Braverman comes to Micro Focus with more than 20 years of industry experience, most recently at WAN optimization provider Riverbed Technology, where he managed the Cascade product sales organization for the majority of the US. Prior to Riverbed Technologies, he led the US eastern region’s application performance management sales organization at Mercury Interactive, where his team dramatically increased revenue and established Mercury’s application performance management solutions as the leading technology in Global 1000 companies. After HP acquired Mercury Interactive, he was promoted in 2006 to Mid-Atlantic Region Sales Director responsible for HP’s full line of Business Technology Optimization solutions.
Chris Livesey started his 17 years in the IT and software industry as a software developer and architect, and combines deep expertise in software specification, design and continuous quality improvement with more than 10 years of software solution sales leadership. Livesey will focus on driving new customer acquisition and increasing revenue throughout EMEA and Latin America. Livesey joins Micro Focus from IBM, where he held several senior management positions including heading the company’s Northern European Rational Software business; leading IBM’s UK, Ireland and South Africa Information Management software business during the acquisitions of Ascential, Filenet and Cognos; and most recently as Sales Director for IBM in Scotland. Livesey joined IBM through its acquisition of Rational Software Corporation where during his seven-year tenure he performed a variety of technical and sales management roles. In addition to a long series of successes in growing software businesses, he has extensive experience in software company acquisitions, and maximizing and accelerating the productivity of acquired software companies.
