The Minnesota Health Information Exchange Provides e-Prescribing Services to Courage Center

MINNEAPOLIS--()--The Minnesota Health Information Exchange (MN HIE) signed an agreement to provide e-prescribing and patient clinical information to Courage Center of Minnesota.

When asked about the agreement with MN HIE Nancy Larkin, COO of Courage Center stated, “We are very excited to begin this venture with MN HIE. We believe that working with MN HIE will allow us to continue to excel in the level of quality service that our clients have come to expect from us.”

“Providers at Courage Center need easy access to e-prescribing combined with a patient’s clinical history in order to provide complete care. MN HIE’s goal is to provide low-cost, easy, electronic access to clinical data to enable Minnesota’s care centers to meet meaningful use requirements and provide complete care to their patients,” said Michael Ubl, MN HIE Executive Director.

MN HIE allows providers to create and send electronic prescriptions with a single link from the MN HIE portal while viewing a patient’s clinical information (medication history, eligibility information, lab history, immunization history and clinical care documents).

More than 4.2 million Minnesota residents are currently represented in the MN HIE secure patient directory, allowing participating providers to exchange important clinical and administrative information not previously or readily available. This improves coordination of care and patient management.
