ACS Partners with DiagnosisONE to Add Clinical Decision Support to Pharmacy Benefits Management and Health Information Exchange Solutions

Brings Clinical Decision Support and Lab Results into Pharmacy Claims Process for the First Time, Beginning in Mass.; Adds CDS and Lab Data Management for Health Information Exchange

LOWELL, Mass.--()--DiagnosisONE, the clinical decision support and analytics company, today announced that it has partnered with Affiliated Computer Services, Inc. (ACS), A Xerox Company (NYSE: XRX), to deliver clinical decision support (CDS) and lab data management solutions to ACS’ pharmacy benefits management (PBM) and health information exchange (HIE) solutions. Beginning with its deployment in Massachusetts, ACS will integrate DiagnosisONE’s CDS and analytics solutions into its PBM offering. The combined solution will bring lab results into the pharmacy claims process for the first time and apply CDS to clinical data to deliver prior authorizations of patient-specific prescriptions and any subsequent claims adjudications. ACS will also integrate DiagnosisONE’s CDS capabilities into its HIE offerings to make comprehensive patient health information and alerts available at the point of care.

“DiagnosisONE delivers comprehensive CDS capabilities that improve patient care throughout many key areas of the healthcare spectrum,” said Will Saunders, managing director, Government Healthcare Solutions at ACS. “This partnership enables us to offer a uniquely broad range of functionality through a single customer deployment, resulting in substantial cost savings over separately deployed solutions. And, because DiagnosisONE is uniquely architected on the latest standards, their solutions will easily and cost-effectively integrate with our customer systems.”

ACS Informed Health solutions bring together a wealth of patient health data from disparate sources into one integrated health record to help physicians, pharmacists and payers perform better analysis, make smarter decisions and improve health outcomes. Through this partnership, ACS selected DiagnosisONE to provide CDS capabilities for its HIE and PBM offerings based on the cost-effectiveness and flexibility of DiagnosisONE’s HL7 v3 standards-based architecture, and its ability to deliver a diverse, customizable library of solutions through a single deployment.

“ACS is an ideal partner for DiagnosisONE based on the myriad healthcare IT issues it addresses for its clients,” said Dr. Mansoor Khan, CEO of DiagnosisONE. “DiagnosisONE’s solutions enable the broadest range of key healthcare IT processes – including real-time CDS, gap analysis, public health, patient education, radiology, predictive modeling, order sets and more. The breadth of our capabilities, combined with our flexible deployment, makes DiagnosisONE a powerful and cost-effective solution for partners like ACS who want to deliver new services that improve patient care.”

DiagnosisONE’s CDS and analytics solutions improve the quality, safety and efficiency of patient care. Leveraging the world’s largest, most robust collection of medical rules, combined with powerful analytics, DiagnosisONE enables healthcare providers to reduce costs, increase revenue and improve medical outcomes. DiagnosisONE’s standards-based solutions are ready to use “out of the box,” and are fully configurable to each organization’s specific needs with minimal effort. The company’s customers now include healthcare providers, hospitals, health plans, electronic medical record (EMR) vendors, systems integrators and government entities like the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).
