SALZBURG, Austria--()--Orderman GmbH, a leading supplier of technology for the European hospitality industry, today announced the launch of Columbus Point of Sale, a new family of products built to innovate the supply and service of hardware to restaurant operators throughout the continent.

“Our dealers and users look to Orderman for innovation,” said Mark Schoen, general manager of Orderman. “Columbus Point of Sale combines world-class reliability and performance with classic styling that more appropriately meets the needs of European restaurateurs than competitive retail platforms or designs imported from Asia.”

Columbus is a solid-state POS featuring a fanless cooling system, robust storage capabilities and Intel® mobile chipset technology. Its ultra-low voltage processor means it is among the most environmentally-friendly POS machines on the market today. A restaurant with four legacy terminals that switches to Columbus could reduce power usage by as much as 50 percent. Columbus 700, the first member of the new product suite, is the premium offering and is complemented by the mid-range Columbus 300, which launches next month. The Columbus 700 gives dealers the option to deploy a built-in router for use with Orderman’s industry-leading mobile handheld devices.

“We are excited to add the Columbus terminal to our product offering because for the first time we have hardware to sell that was developed exclusively for the European hospitality industry,” said Thomas Hoffstiepel, general manager of 42 GmbH, an Orderman dealer in Germany. “Like its handheld devices, Orderman combined a sleek design, the latest technology and an outstanding service and support concept to make Columbus a unique product in our market. I’m confident our current and potential customers will love it!”

Columbus POS is offered in combination with CareGold service and support, which simplifies the logistics and costs of on-site support. This service offering allows Orderman dealers to focus on growing their businesses and restaurant operators to focus on giving their customers the best possible dining experience.

“We built the service model for this product with the goal of enhancing the business of our dealers,” added Schoen. “We believe our warranty offerings and service capabilities are unmatched in the industry and provide our dealers with a significant competitive advantage.”
