CADFASTER FIRST TO RENDER CLOUD-BASED 3D COLLABORATION ON IPAD AND IPHONE WITH FULL DETAIL AND COMPONENTS IN REAL-TIME
CadFaster|Collaborate online computing software running on mobile devices makes it possible to view and annotate large 3D models anywhere
Riding the new wave of enterprise mobility, CadFaster, Inc. (http://www.cadfaster.com/) today announced that its CadFaster|Collaborate™ online software tool for the real-time annotation and co-viewing of 3D CAD models is being demonstrated on both the iPad and iPhone at SolidWorks World 2011 in CadFaster booth #136. CadFaster|Collaborate is the first online solution to be able to render large 3D models on a mobile operating system with full details and components in real-time.
CadFaster|Collaborate was specifically developed to dramatically increase collaboration, productivity and effectiveness for Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC), mechanical and plant design firms seeking the fast reading and smooth handling of complex and large CAD data files. The tool is distinguished by its ability to allow distribution, annotation, and real-time co-viewing of diverse 3D designs using portable executable files that include CadFaster’s popular and reliable 3D engine, the fastest and most efficient 3D viewer on the market.
“The cloud-based software approach of CadFaster|Collaborate enables a powerful combination of full feature capabilities, high functionality and speed, even on mobile devices,” said Raymond Kurland, president, Technicom Group LLC. “Providing direct access to diverse 3D CAD files with one single software application leads to efficient data sharing, exchange and communications.”
The benefits of using CadFaster|Collaborate on a mobile device are immediate. Improved collaboration between design and manufacturing as well as effective communication with customers, maintenance staff, vendors and third party contractors who are always on the move reduce engineering costs and improve the project revision process. Up to 10 people can join co-viewing sessions in which each person can contribute by presenting their feedback to others. Annotations can be quickly reviewed during the co-viewing session using pre-defined views.
“Tablets and smartphones are becoming a true alternative to the personal computer and provide organizations with a significant boost in productivity when used with cloud computing tools such as CadFaster|Collaborate,” said Raimo Kuismin, chairman, CadFaster Inc. “Cost reductions are also quickly realized as the need to purchase and train on expensive CAD equipment is removed.”
To see how CadFaster|Collaborate is helping engineers, designers and other technology professionals maximize both productivity and creativity by allowing them to communicate and make real-time design inputs from locations dispersed around the world, please visit Booth #136 at SolidWorks World 2011.
Immediately available for both SolidWorks and Autodesk Revit CAD platforms, CadFaster|Collaborate will be released for all major CAD platforms within the next 12 months.
