Cupples, Assistant Vice President; and, Kyle A. Asher, Associate. Monroe also announced the promotion of Alex Franky to Director and Principal.

Daniel M. Duffy, Managing Director, has over 25 years of commercial lending experience. He was previously with CapitalSource Finance as Co-President of the Corporate Finance Group and Head of Capital Markets, and prior to CapitalSource, was with Heller Financial/GE Capital as Senior Credit Officer for Corporate Finance and Equipment Finance Groups, and Managing Director of Loan Syndications in GE’s Global Sponsor Finance Group. Prior to that, Mr. Duffy was with Bankers Trust Company in its Asset Based Lending Group. Mr. Duffy is a graduate of Northern Illinois University with a B.S. in Accounting.
Sara E. Mongerson, Director of Institutional Relationships and Investor Relations, has over 18 years of experience in institutional asset management. Prior to Monroe, Ms. Mongerson was a Partner at Smith Asset Management Group where she was responsible for institutional sales and customer service. Prior firms include Sustainable Asset Management USA, Inc.; Columbia Management Company; Loomis, Sayles & Company; and, Van Kampen Management Inc. Ms. Mongerson received her B.S. in Finance from Illinois State University and her M.B.A. in International Business from DePaul University
Seth B. Friedman, Operations Manager, was previously in the Operations Group at Pangaea Asset Management, LLC. Prior to Pangaea, Mr. Friedman was a Securitization Compliance Analyst at CapitalSource Finance and Senior Account Manager at LaSalle Bank. Mr. Friedman earned his B.S. in Business-Legal Studies from The Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.
Jeffrey K. Williams, Vice President, was a Consultant with L.E.K. Consulting where he performed due diligence to support private equity transactions for middle-market clients. Prior to that, he previously held positions at Lehman Brothers, NYSE Euronext and JPMorgan Chase. Mr. Williams earned his B.B.A. from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business and his M.B.A. with Honors from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
Jeffrey M. Cupples, Assistant Vice President, was an Associate at Pangaea Asset Management. Prior to Pangaea, Mr. Cupples was a Corporate Banking Loan Officer at LaSalle Bank. Mr. Cupples earned his BA with honors in Finance from the Eli Broad College of Business at Michigan State University.
Kyle A. Asher, Associate, was an Analyst with Calder Partners, a fund of funds private equity firm partly owned by Goldman Sachs and Ares Capital. Prior to Calder, Mr. Asher was an Equity Analyst with MindShare Capital, an institutional money manager where he focused on small-cap growth companies. Mr. Asher received his B.S. in Political Science and Philosophy from Northwestern University.
Alex Franky, Director and Principal, joined Monroe in 2005, after working for Hilco Capital LP where he was responsible for investment structuring and execution of fund investments. Previous experience also includes positions with GMAC Business Credit, FINOVA Capital Corp., and LaSalle Bank. Mr. Franky earned his B.S. in Accounting from University of Illinois at Chicago and his M.B.A. in Finance and International Business from Loyola University.
