Thompson has more than 25 years of experience in software development working at a variety of high-tech firms. Most recently, he was senior director of engineering excellence at Blue Coat Systems, where he led the continuous quality improvement initiatives across the 400-plus member engineering organization. Prior to Blue Coat, Thompson served as director of process improvement and special projects at Invensys Process Systems, and director of R&D for i2 Technologies, now part of JDA Software Group. He also served in a variety of engineering leadership roles at Sybase (an SAP Company), Deft Software and Disus. He earned a bachelor’s degree in applied science in industrial engineering at the University of Toronto.
