BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Los Angeles-based band, The Aggrolites, announce the release of their full-length album Rugged Road on Young Cub Records. The official release date for the 12” vinyl and digital formats is February 22, 2011. The CD with bonus tracks and exclusive artwork is scheduled for a March 22, 2011 release. The vinyl 7” singles “Trial And Error” and “Dreaming On Erie” from the full-length album are available now at www.youngcubrecords.com and retail outlets.
The Aggrolites are Jesse Wagner (vocals and lead guitar), Brian Dixon (rhythm guitar), Roger Rivas (organ), Jeff Roffredo (Bass), and Alex Mckenzie (Drums). The band has a specific way of making music. They don't over think it, they don't obsess over pop culture demands; they walk onto a stage or into a recording studio and let "it" happen. The Aggrolites are known for their fusion of reggae, soul, grit and determination known as “Dirty Reggae”.
The sessions took place at Young Cub Records’ studio headquarters in Boston, MA with Craig “DubFader” Welsch (Slightly Stoopid, John Brown’s Body) at the controls. Of the sessions, Jeff Roffredo, bass player of The Aggrolites, says the band wanted to “lay down these new rhythms on reel to reel tape, playing all together in one room to create a vibe that can’t be copied by any of the newest advances in recording technology.”
The Aggrolites have shared the stage with Social Distortion, Rancid, Flogging Molly, 311, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Dropkick Murphys, The Vandals, Against Me!, and most recently Slightly Stoopid. They have played the stages at Coachella, Vans Warped Tour (where they were named “Best Band” by the artists, staff and road crew), SXSW, Bumbershoot, CMJ, Sundance Film Festival, L.A. Film Fest, Sunset Junction, Detour Music Fest, KROQ’s Weenie Roast, 94/9 Independence Jam, YO GABBA GABBA and Ragga Muffins Fest. The band also collaborated on 11 songs with Rancid front man and Hellcat Records’ Tim Armstrong on his solo album A Poet’s Life.
