EmSense Rounds Out Science Advisory Board with Four Additional World Renowned Scientists

EmSense welcomes to its Science Advisory Board (SAB) Michael Gazzaniga, PhD from the University of California, Santa Barbara; Read Montague, PhD from Virginia Tech and University College, London; John Polich, PhD from The Scripps Research Institute; and Thomas Ramsoy, PhD from the Copenhagen Business School.

  • Dr. Michael Gazzaniga is considered to be the father of Cognitive Neuroscience, having published the seminal text, “Handbook of Cognitive Neuroscience,” and authored 20 books and hundreds of papers on neuroscience/psychology. He also is the Director, Sage Center for Study of Mind, the Founder of the Cognitive Neuroscience Society, President of the Cognitive Neuroscience Institute, former President of the American Psychological Society and co-founder of the Journal of Cognitive Neuroscience. Additionally, Dr. Gazzaniga is the former Dean of Faculty & Director at the Center for Cognitive Neuroscience, Dartmouth College.
  • Dr. Read Montague is a leading expert on Neuro-Economics, Neuro-Imaging and Decision Modeling Tools. He is Director of the Computational Psychiatry Unit & Neuroimaging Lab at the Virginia Tech Carilion Research Institute, and Professor in the Wellcome Trust Centre for Neuroimaging at University College, London. His numerous publications include the seminal fMRI study of loyal Coke drinkers taking the Pepsi Challenge.
  • Dr. John Polich is a highly respected pioneer in the field of Neurocognition and Event-Related Brain Potentials. He is in charge of the Cognitive Electrophysiology Lab at The Scripps Research Institute, where he focuses on neuroelectric studies of attention, memory and cognition. Dr. Polich is especially known for his expertise in P300 brain potential as a neuropsychological tool.
  • Dr. Thomas Ramsoy is at the forefront of European Neuro-Economics. He heads Research at the Decision Neuroscience Research Group, Copenhagen Business School, and is Senior Researcher at Danish Research Centre for Magnetic Resonance, Hvidovre University Hospital, Copenhagen.

  • Michael Zyda, DSc, Professor of Engineering Practice in the University of Southern California Department of Computer Science and Director of the USC GamePipe Laboratory for video game development.
