SARATOGA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Futuremark® Corporation today announced the winners of its worldwide 3DMark®11 Overclocking Challenge which saw entries from more than 117,000 contestants in 133 countries. Top winners Elmore and DFORDOG each won USD 1000 with runner-up winners taking home a selection of hardware prizes from competition sponsors MSI, Enermax, Kingmax, InWin and GlacialTech.
The contest featured two challenges. In the first, people competed to achieve the highest performance versus cost score with NVIDIA-based graphics cards. The card used by the overall winner and all the other entries at the top of the leaderboard was the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 which has a MSRP of USD 169.99. The second competition challenge saw contestants battling to get the highest 3DMark 11 score using a single MSI N480 GTX Lightning graphics card.
NVIDIA PERFORMANCE VERSUS COST CHALLENGE
Record the best "bang for the buck" score, a number calculated from the 3DMark 11 score divided by the MSRP cost of the NVIDIA-based graphics card used.
