Kofax Extends Enterprise Capture Platform with New Capabilities

Enhanced Features Reduce Costs, Increase Productivity and Accelerate ROI

Kofax Transform Event 2011

BARCELONA, Spain--()--Kofax plc (LSE:KFX), the leading provider of document driven business process automation solutions, today announced the extension of its enterprise capture platform with significant new capabilities that support new applications and use cases; improve usability, system set up and administration; and enhance enterprise class systems management and control, providing customers with reduced costs, increased productivity and accelerated return on investment (ROI).

By extending high volume capture capabilities with improved handling of email and fax data, Kofax offers customers an even more scalable platform for capturing all information as it enters their organizations. In invoice processing applications, for example, enhancements to document handling and viewing as well as broader support of new applications and workflows give customers more deployment options and alternatives that further reduce costs in this business critical process.

Information capture platforms need sophisticated systems management and monitoring to optimize the ingestion of all information types at the perimeter of an organization to maximize the productivity of document driven business processes. As such, Kofax’s system monitoring capability has been significantly enhanced to better manage and control a broader set of information types and enable accelerated document processing.

“By focusing on and delivering capabilities that accelerate business processes, Kofax has made it even easier for customers to make their document capture platforms enterprise ready and enjoy increased performance, reduced costs and a rapid, measurable ROI,” said Jim Nicol, Executive Vice President of Products at Kofax.

New and enhanced capabilities include:

  • The easiest to use thin client for invoice processing. MarkView for Accounts Payable, Kofax’s comprehensive, capture enabled financial process automation application for accounts payable (AP) and other functions, now provides business users with one click approval or rejection in an easily configurable user interface. In addition, MarkView for Accounts Payable has been re-certified for SAP NetWeaver, which provides the technical foundation for SAP applications.
  • New capture enabled workflows in MarkView for Accounts Payable that flag inconsistencies with supplier assessed value added tax (VAT) and freight costs, eliminating manual steps for checking inconsistencies and accelerating the invoice approval process.
  • Superior performance and device health monitoring for Kofax VirtualReScan (VRS) Elite based scanners and Kofax Communication Server. Kofax Monitor, which provides real time system monitoring and performance metrics on the operational health of Kofax Capture and Kofax Transformation Modules, has been extended with these capabilities, maximizing system availability and reducing maintenance costs.
  • Enhanced automated ingestion of electronic documents, such as emails and faxes, to initiate and support enterprise document driven business processes and workflows. Once documents are captured and converted into electronic images by Kofax Capture and Kofax Transformation Modules, text and data are accurately extracted from the images as well as from email, faxes and attachments – significantly reducing processing time, labor costs and eliminating lost or misfiled documents.
