SILVER SPRING, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Curiosity Inc. (Nasdaq: CURI), a leading global factual media and entertainment company, today announced details on its continued aggressive expansion into Free Ad-Supported Streaming Television (FAST) with the launch of channels on Fubo, DirecTV, Xumo, Sky UK, STARZ ON, and Fawsome TV. Curiosity’s growth in the FAST space reflects the surging demand for high quality ad-supported factual content and gives Curiosity opportunities to expand its digital footprint and diversify its revenue streams.
Curiosity Now, the media company’s flagship FAST channel, offers classic Curiosity content stacked for optimal binge-watching in a brand-safe environment for the entire family. Viewers get a diverse mix of content ranging from history and science to technology and lifestyle with a focus on high-quality films, series, and specials.
Among the recent launches:
- Curiosity Now is now available in Fubo’s Pro Base Plan as well as the free tier. Fubo viewers already have access to Curiosity’s premium pay TV linear channel Curiosity Channel and the flagship SVOD add-on Curiosity Stream.
- In the UK, Curiosity is teaming with Sky UK to bring Curiosity Now to Sky Stream and Sky Glass, the FAST service for Sky customers. Sky is one of Europe’s leading media and entertainment companies, part of Comcast Corporation.
- Curiosity Now launched this week on Xumo Play. Xumo Play anchors the free content offering on Xumo devices and is also available on the major streaming platforms.
- In 19 countries across the MENA region, Curiosity Now is available on STARZ ON, the free-to-watch streaming platform launched by evision, part of e&, a global technology group with over 163 million customers.
- And Curiosity Now is among the inaugural channels on MyFreeDirecTV. The largest satellite TV provider in the US launched its new FAST service in November with more than 70 curated channels and an on-demand library.
“Curiosity’s ability to build strong, scalable partnerships with major platforms and distributors positions us to take full advantage of the trends in consumer demand,” said Jay Sodha, VP of Business Development and Partnerships at Curiosity. “FAST channels represent a key component of the current media landscape, and we’re excited to build on our momentum with a commitment to investing in this growing market in 2025.”
Boosting audience engagement and attracting new advertising partnerships, Curiosity’s distribution network covers more than 100 platforms across audio and visual media. The recent FAST launches represent the latest in a series of successful deals and new partnerships for Curiosity globally this year including FAST channel launches in the United States on Vizio and Samsung TV+; in Canada on LG, and in Europe, FAST channel launches across five countries on Samsung TV+ and on Rakuten in the UK, Netherlands, and the Nordics.
