HOLLAND, Ohio--(BUSINESS WIRE)--hoopla Digital, the only all-in-one digital media app for public libraries and their patrons, announced today that it is partnering with Impactful Group, an organization committed to creating meaningful change through innovative storytelling, education and mental health resources, to launch a new BingePass: the Creative Coping Toolkit.
The Creative Coping Toolkit is a film- and evidence-based mental health education program for all ages. It harnesses the power of movies and storytelling to address topics like anxiety, online safety, bullying and belonging. The Creative Coping Toolkit leverages the latest research in psychology and behavioral health to create an accessible, relatable and impactful resource that bridges the gap between awareness and action.
“Libraries are essential pillars of their communities –– and as those communities evolve, the resources and support they provide must also evolve,” said hoopla Digital founder Jeff Jankowski. “Libraries address the diverse needs of their patrons with care and dedication. This BingePass is an example of a helpful resource for librarians and their patrons, ensuring that libraries can fulfill their mission of providing their communities with the services they need to live better, happier lives as their needs change.”
The Creative Coping Toolkit is composed of four different programs, each with its own unique focus on different parts of the mental health equation: raising awareness around anxiety, finding balance in our digital world, finding strategies to overcome cyber-bullying, and addressing the impact of racism on our mental health. Every program includes empowering strategies, practical tips and adaptable tools to support safety, positive mental wellbeing, personal agency and life skill development. The short films interweave personal stories from students and their families with scientific data and expert perspectives from mental health professionals, diversity and inclusion experts, and educators.
With this new partnership, participating public libraries will receive immediate access to the program through hoopla with no additional fees or subscriptions to manage, while patrons receive free unlimited access for a week with a library card. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, communities have been turning to their libraries for more than books – libraries have become hubs for essential community resources. The Creative Coping Toolkit provides services that support librarians aiming to offer more mental health resources to their patrons.
"Our mission with the Creative Coping Toolkit is to normalize conversations around mental health in a way that’s creative, approachable, and effective," said Scilla Andreen, CEO of Impactful Group. "We know that storytelling has the power to break down barriers and connect people. Through the Creative Coping Toolkit, we’re providing practical, evidence-based tools that can help individuals and communities build emotional resilience and navigate today’s complex social challenges."
