U.S. Architectural Lighting Introduces Baseline to Deliver Glare-Free, Uniform Pickleball & Tennis Court Illumination

New lighting ensures maximum visibility and minimum distraction during play for adrenaline-fueled performances for players and spectator enjoyment

PALMDALE, Calif.--()--U.S. Architectural Lighting, a leading American manufacturer of contemporary area and street lighting, introduces Baseline™ – Pickleball & Tennis Court Lighting. A game-changing lighting system that electrifies the court! Baseline pushes the limits of lighting technology to reset the boundary of the game. Designed to flood the court with vibrant, dynamic light, this system transforms every night match into a high-energy experience. Baseline™ doesn’t just light up the court—it lights up the entire game.

Designed specifically for the court, Baseline uses a Type IV CL precision optic designed especially to meet IESNA / USA Pickleball / USTA Standard Performance Criteria for court photometrics. The luminaires distribute uniform light across the court surface without creating hot spots. To minimize glare, the light is directed at a low angle onto the court surface avoiding direct glare into the eyes of the players to prevent discomfort or distractions during play.

Baseline integrates the aesthetics of a modern low-profile luminaire with built-in optics designed to cover every inch of the court while the mounting is away from the court. The luminaire utilizes the PLED engineered optical system for uniform distribution by moving the light and keeping the luminaire mounting parallel to but away from the court itself. Leveraging advanced LED technology, the PLED module not only enhances the visual experience, but also reduces maintenance and energy consumption over time.

BABA- and Dark Sky-compliant with a U0 BUG rating for specific configurations, the specialized court lighting provides type IV-CL distribution which is designed to ensure optimal visibility with minimal light pollution. With the absence of uplight, the fixtures focus precisely on the playing area. Optional house-side shields are applied to each individual LED in asymmetric distributions to control property trespass and unwanted brightness in surrounding areas.

The Baseline is available in five sizes in wattages from 85 watts to 550 watts, with up to four fixtures per pole, in parallel assembly arrangements, allowing a wide range of lumen packages. The easy-to-install and maintain luminaires have a robust cast aluminum housing that can stand up to inclement weather conditions for both professional and recreational use.
