Blockworks Announces the Agenda for Permissionless III Conference in Salt Lake City on October 9-11

Conference will convene industry heavyweights and public policy experts weeks ahead of the U.S. presidential election

SALT LAKE CITY--()--Blockworks and co-host Bankless are announcing the agenda and speaker lineup for Permissionless III, one of the most influential crypto industry gatherings in the United States and the global Web3 industry. The event will take place in Salt Lake City on Oct. 9-11.

Permissionless III headline speakers will include:

- Chris Dixon, a16z
- Balaji Srinivasan, author, The Network State
- Tom Emmer, U.S. House of Representatives (R-MN)
- Ritchie Torres, U.S. House of Representatives (D-NY)
- John Curtis, U.S. House of Representatives (R-UT)
- Samara Cohen, BlackRock
- Paul Grewal, Coinbase
- Sreeram Kannan, EigenLayer
- Carline D. Pham, U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission

The conference will take place weeks before the U.S. presidential election on Nov. 5 as the two major party candidates — Vice President Kamala Harris and former president Donald Trump — are making their final campaign sprints.

U.S. crypto policy has become a focal point for the digital asset industry and an evolving policy area for America’s political establishment. Permissionless III will be one of the last public venues for industry and public policy experts to share their viewpoints in advance of Election Day.

“When we began planning Permissionless III roughly a year ago, there was no way we could have predicted the advances the Web3 sector would have made during that time, nor the uptick in interest and participation the industry would have in U.S. politics and vice-versa,” said Jason Yanowitz, Blockworks co-founder. “The timeliness of these events combined with our standout lineup of speakers should make this year’s edition of Permissionless especially compelling.”

In addition to the U.S. election and public policy, Permissionless III’s main themes will include AI’s impact on crypto, the Bitcoin Renaissance, consumer adoption, the multichain future and layer-2 blockchains.

Blockworks and official hackathon partner, buidlbox, will host the second edition of the Permissionless Hackathon, a 36-hour in-person event featuring technical workshops on Oct. 7-8. Hackathon participants will receive free tickets to the main conference.

The first-ever Permissionless Pickleball tournament will take place on October 10. Sign up here.

In addition, Blockworks will host Karate Combat featuring a stacked lineup of fights on October 11 including The Clash of DeFi Titans David Hoffman and Kain Warwick.
