LAKELAND, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--New Beginnings High School in Lakeland, Winter Haven, and Fort Meade proudly upholds standards for effective instruction, professional development, and parental involvement designed to ensure academic success.
The primary goal is to help students reach their full potential through a supportive educational environment that focuses on academic excellence, social connection, and access to resources that help students gain confidence and independence.
When can families enroll their students? NBHS offers an accommodating rolling enrollment window that allows families to apply for admission throughout the school year. This means that students can transform their educational journey at any time. How does the process work?
First, families must fill out and submit a student interest form. Students under 18 need a parent’s signature and must provide separate email addresses for the student and at least one parent. Applicants aged 18 and over can sign and provide their email address.
After filling out the form, students/families must complete the enrollment application, which includes student identification verification or two proofs of residency. Additional requirements apply to applicants who are not previous residents of Polk County.
Once all of the required information has been submitted, applicants will receive an invitation to attend an orientation session, where students and parents can learn more about the program.
During this session, families interested in sending a student to New Beginnings High School in Lakeland, Winter Haven, or Fort Meade are invited to visit their preferred campus, tour the facilities, and interact with the staff to get a sense of the student experience. During this initial visit, families will also review their applications and paperwork.
Applicants may wish to use this time on campus to purchase school shirts and get a head start on showing school spirit. NBHS students are also eligible for a free city bus pass through Citrus Connection — they may claim this pass during their orientation session.
Who is eligible for admission at NBHS campuses? The school accepts students between the ages of 15 and 24 for entry in grade levels 6-12. Middle school and high school curricula are offered, including a variety of language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies courses, along with a variety of fun and exciting electives.
Many families are interested in the unique, project-based learning opportunities offered through the Innovation Lab, where students have access to advanced equipment and technologies. Projects designed to help students engage in real-world challenges foster creativity and critical thinking while supporting a collaborative learning environment.
Students and families considering enrolling at New Beginnings High School will find the admissions process straightforward and easy to complete.
