COLUMBUS, Ohio--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Hexion announced that it has successfully completed the Responsible Care 14001® (RC14001) certification process, achieving compliance at all of Hexion’s North and Latin American sites. RC14001 is the globally-recognized gold standard for environmental, health, safety and security management systems established by the American Chemistry Council’s (ACC) Responsible Care program.

Responsible Care is a voluntary environmental, health, safety and security initiative. Chemical companies who earn this certification pledge to operate their business according to the Responsible Care Guiding Principles and undergo annual audits by an accredited, third-party auditor.

The recent certification audits included the Company’s headquarters and five manufacturing sites: Edmonton, Canada; Sheboygan, Wisconsin; Hope, Arkansas, Morganton, North Carolina; and Alexandria, Louisiana. Each audited site participated in a comprehensive review that demonstrated compliance with environmental management, safety procedures, regulatory compliance, product safety, security measures, emergency response plans and community/stakeholder engagement.
