NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--RealBlocks, an alternative investments digital technology platform that enables global distribution capabilities for fund managers, announces that Simon McKay has joined the firm as Managing Director of Distribution and will also serve as a Portfolio Manager for RealBlocks Investment Advisor. He joins RealBlocks with more than 20 years of experience working with leading asset management firms across different functions, including investment advisory, business development, corporate strategy, and product management.

McKay will focus on developing capabilities that allow alternative investment firms to distribute their funds through intermediary channels, including wirehouses, independent broker-dealers, bank trusts, and RIA’s. These intermediaries will benefit from greater access to alternative strategies, secondary trading, and improved liquidity and valuation of their private investments. He will work closely with Scott Brooks, Chief Operating Officer, and Michael Hanus, Senior Managing Director of Distribution.

McKay joins RealBlocks from Invesco where he was responsible for portfolio advisory in North American Wealth Management and Global Platform Development for the firm’s Investment Solutions practice. Prior to his time at Invesco, McKay was VP, Product Director for Multi Asset Solutions & Product at OppenheimerFunds where he led the build out of the firm’s multi-asset business. Previously, he worked at Columbia Threadneedle as a VP of Product Development and Strategy. Earlier in his career McKay was an Equity Research Analyst at Putnam Investment where he conducted research and made investment recommendations of public software and hardware firms.
McKay holds an MBA from The Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and an AB from Bowdoin College. Additionally, he holds Series 7 and Series 24 licenses.
