SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Global Semiconductor Alliance (GSA) Women’s Leadership Initiative (WLI) proudly presents its first Women in Semiconductor Hardware Conference, WISH, on September 14 – 15, 2021. WISH was created to recognize and demonstrate women’s technical prowess in the semiconductor ecosystem, learn about their innovative leadership and contributions to the industry. The two half-day sessions are packed with industry visionaries, technology leaders and entrepreneurial futurists. WISH will be held at Marvell’s Santa Clara headquarters and live streamed for those unable to attend in person.
On the opening day of WISH, GSA WLI will present Dr. Lisa Su, President and CEO, AMD with its inaugural Woman of Innovation Award. This award recognizes an industry veteran who has dedicated her career to making exceptional contributions to drive the development, innovation, growth and long-term opportunities for the semiconductor industry.
“Lisa is an icon in our industry and the epitome of what successful leadership can mean to transforming a company and an industry. She is one of the most respected leaders in technology today and an inspiration to women who want to pursue careers that design solutions to positively impact the world. Her success is a bellwether for women in technology. Working with Lisa as Chair of GSA and on the WLI Women’s Leadership Council has been one of honors of my career and recognizing her – at this first ever conference committed to providing a platform for future technologists – as our first ‘Woman of Innovation’ recipient is a thrill. I want this conference to be a catalyst for the young women joining our industry and our program to see others like them, to emulate their careers after them and to someday become a leader, like Lisa,” said Jodi Shelton, CEO of GSA.
In addition to the Woman of Innovation Award, GSA WLI will also present two additional awards at WISH: Female Up and Comer and Designing the Difference.
The Female Up and Comer Award recognizes and profiles the next generation of young women in the semiconductor industry.
