While global financial markets have come to the era of digitalization, demand among high-net-worth clients for premium and efficient products keep emerging. Following the establishment of the external asset management (“EAM”) business last year, this April the Group’s wealth management platform built a fin-tech team to sensibly utilize fin-tech tools to enrich service channels as well as enhance financing products and services, comprehensively upgrading the Group’s fin-tech and wealth management clients. In the second quarter this year, remote account opening and KYC (Know Your Customer) solutions have been in trial stage and are expected to officially be launched in the second half this year.

Currently, the Group’s wealth management platform comprises of core professional teams including fin-tech, EAM, investment advisory, private client financial services and structural financial derivatives. Not only does it offer regular investment portfolio such as equity and fixed income but also derivative warrants and callable Bull/Bear contracts, customized financial products, foreign exchange, futures and private equity. As of the end of 2020, assets under custody amounted to HKD206.7 billion, representing a 35% YoY upsurge (vs 3% downturn in Hang Seng Index).
