MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--()--Multitasking for moms is nothing new, but Ann Marie Cody of Sunnyvale, Calif., takes it to a whole new level having now broken the times for not one, but two Guinness World Records: the “fastest half marathon pushing a triple pram (female)” and the “fastest marathon pushing a triple pram (female).”

Cody recently competed in the Modesto Marathon while pushing her 15-month-old triplets in a four-foot-wide stroller with total weight tipping the scale at 120 pounds. She completed the 26.2-mile course in 4:06:33, surpassing the previous record time by nearly 20 minutes. The Guinness World Records will ratify her time in the coming weeks.

Cody and her children already have made the Guinness Book when she was awarded a record for a similar feat in the most recent Fresno Half Marathon. There, she finished 13.1 miles in 1:47:59, a time that was just officially ratified by Guinness.

For both races, Cody was motivated to raise funds for the El Camino Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in Mountain View where her triplets received care.

The family began training June 2017 and the babies “ran” their first 10K in August, followed by the half marathon in November. “It’s fun to break records but more important for me to help support the hospital and staff that took such good care of us,” says Cody. “Our babies were born at 33 weeks and spent weeks in El Camino Hospital NICU. I can’t thank the staff enough, and wanted to give back in a way that included the triplets.”

The 36-year-old’s record breaking races were her first half and full marathon, respectively. She has raised funds for various organizations, and with the El Camino Hospital Foundation NICU effort, hopes to further enhance the experience for other NICU families. “Running with the stroller is tough, but it’s a great activity that we can do together,” says Cody. “Exposing my two sons and daughter to their community and outdoor activities is a bonus, though after a few miles, it’s nap time.”
