CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Baird & Warner, Chicagoland's largest locally owned independent residential real estate services company, has won Leading RE’s Rainmaker of the Year Award for their work dramatically expanding the national Military on the Move (MOM) program to better suit the needs of Chicagoland clients who are on active duty or are veterans of the military.
Leading Real Estate Companies of the World offers special real estate benefits to active-duty and veteran personnel nationwide, and Baird & Warner signed on to the program in 2015. In January of 2017, Baird & Warner interviewed former and active military servicemembers to find out what they needed to take advantage of MOM and implemented add-ons to the program to make it available to many more servicemembers.
Baird & Warner agents who completed the military-specific training to offer the program met with clients at veteran fairs and events; Baird & Warner sponsored Rockin’ for the Troops, Harley Davidson’s VetFest, and the Pritzker Military Gala; and many agents sponsored 5k races, luncheons, and baseball games.
“It was a great way to support our troops and build awareness for MOM and my certification,” said Baird & Warner agent, Tara Riley, who was a sponsor for the Homestretch for Heroes 5k event. The message and support resonated with active duty members and veterans, and by year’s end, agents had 115 initiations, 53 closings, 12 outgoing military referrals with four closings, and $16M in sales.
