Cedar Brook Chooses Orion Platform to Fuel Its Continued Growth

Cleveland-based advisory with over $2 billion in AUM favors Orion Advisor Services for its flexible payout solutions, deep integrations

OMAHA, Neb.--()--Orion Advisor Services, LLC ("Orion"), the premier portfolio management solution provider for registered investment advisors, will provide its innovative portfolio management system to Cedar Brook Financial Partners, a Cleveland-based RIA with over $2 billion in assets under management and 29 investment advisor representatives.

After a methodical evaluation, including more than half a dozen portfolio management vendors, Cedar Brook chose Orion for its ability to implement a highly integrated solution with the efficiency necessary to create a scalable platform for growth.

“Cedar Brook identified requirements that only Orion could fulfill,” said Ryan Donovan, Vice President, Business Development at Orion. Among those needs were integrations with client relationship management, financial planning, and custodial platforms. Complex payout reporting and automated tax optimization in trading were other important factors in their decision, Donovan said.

Cedar Brook, which was founded in 2005, grew swiftly to become one of the largest independent wealth management firms in Ohio – serving clients from five offices across three states. But their success presented a challenge: dozens of advisors with unique needs and a variety of payout structures.

Within Cedar Brook’s legacy system, investment reporting was not tailored to the client conversation, Donovan said. Through a custom-branded client portal and mobile app, Orion enables Cedar Brook to deliver an interactive digital experience where a client will obtain the advisor’s reports as well as their custodial statements.
