ITT Enidine Announces New Flight-Critical Components that Deliver Control, Comfort and Agility

New high capacity laminated (HCL) elastomeric bearings and Frahm dampers to be displayed at HAI HELI-EXPO 2018

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y.--()--ITT Inc. (NYSE: ITT) and its Enidine brand today announced the addition of high capacity laminated (HCL) elastomeric bearings and Frahm dampers to their extensive rotorcraft solutions portfolio. Enidine will showcase its comprehensive energy absorption and vibration isolation solutions for rotorcraft applications at HAI HELI-EXPO 2018, Feb. 27 – Mar. 1, in Las Vegas.

“With an extensive engineering, manufacturing and testing facility and services list, Enidine offers a flexible, personalized approach to meeting the demanding application requirements of rotorcraft design,” said David Snowberger, Rotorcraft Business Development Manager, ITT Enidine. “From custom elastomers, to rate controls, and energy absorption devices, we specialize in serving as an extension of the customer’s engineering and manufacturing teams. With this team-based approach, our ability to design, develop, test and produce products all within one facility allows us to bring the highest quality engineered components to market on time and under budget.”

Enidine’s HCL elastomeric bearings are flight-critical components that give rotorcraft designers precise, engineered control over stiffness and damping, reducing in-flight vibration and allowing flexibility in the blades and rotor assembly. Critical to aircraft performance, the innovative HCL bearings are designed to support high loads and blade motion without lubrication. The HCL bearings decrease rotorcraft maintenance costs by reducing bearing replacement intervals with a design that is resistant to dust, debris and fluids. They eliminate unplanned bearing maintenance with a visual inspection that indicates when the HCL bearing is approaching end-of-life, and they reduce in-flight vibration which improves the reliability of other aircraft systems.

Enidine’s Frahm dampers are dynamically tuned vibration absorbers, used on rotorcraft airframes and rotors to reduce vibration and increase comfort for pilots and passengers. The highly engineered Frahm dampers are precisely tuned to resonate at the same frequency as the rotorcraft components, absorbing and counteracting undesirable vibration throughout the aircraft. The Frahm dampers are featured on a major manufacturer’s new commercial helicopter, which recently began delivery and flight service.

The company’s highly engineered rotorcraft solutions increase aircraft performance, fuel efficiency and longevity of flight-critical components, protect cabin interiors from noise and vibration and improve the safety and comfort of passengers and crews. At HAI HELI-EXPO, Enidine will highlight its full rotorcraft application portfolio, including:

  • Multi-Modulus HCL, Journal and Spherical Bearings
  • Frahm Dampers
  • Pylon Isolation Systems
  • Engine, APU and ECU Isolators
  • Cabin Noise Attenuation Systems

Representatives will be available for meetings at Booth C4929 throughout the show. For more information on Enidine’s unique product offerings for military and commercial rotorcraft programs, please visit www.enidine-aviation.com.
