ASTORIA, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Thanksgiving Day in Astoria, Queens just got a lot more exciting as Salt & Bone Smokehouse gives the standard-holiday dishes a Texas-barbecue makeover. The smokehouse is inviting everyone from the community to come dine-in or take-away for this feast of meats, sides, and pies. The Thanksgiving-only Friendsgiving menu also offers day-before delivery for those who want to impress their family & friends with a “homemade” twist.
The Friendsgiving fare includes a slew of dishes you would expect on turkey-day as well as mouthwatering-takes on the standard-sides you couldn’t go without. 3-hour smoked turkey, sliced and covered in a sumptuous butter sauce, 14-hour-smoked Brisket, and salt & pepper-smoked pork; all sourced from humanely-raised, antibiotic-free, local farms make up the meats.
The sides include brioche stuffing with beef and sausage, wood-fire baked sweet potato with maple sour cream, bacon, topped with toasted marshmallow, and mac-n-cheese in a bubbling jalapeño-cheese sauce. This menu stays true to desserts including the classic apple and pumpkin pies to make sure everyone leaves with their buttons-bursting.
The meats range from $14 to $16 for half-a-pound and the sides and pies are all set at $7 each. Delivery to your home the day before Thanksgiving will run you $10. To place an order you can email catering@saltandbone.com or give them a call at (516) 441-7894. For the full Friendsgiving menu head to saltandbone.com/friendsgiving.
Salt & Bone Smokehouse opened its doors earlier this year. The sustainable smokehouse has garnered praise from the city’s elite food publications being placed on the Eater Queens heatmap and named as NYC’s next brisket destination by critic Robert Siestema.
When asked why a Thanksgiving-day menu, the Founder of Salt and Bone Euripides Pelekanos said “This restaurant has always been based on our community and we want to make sure that everyone in the neighborhood has a place to have the most essential meal of the year.”
