ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--DefenseStorm, a company that delivers cybersecurity and cybercompliance solutions specifically built for banking, today announced Terrie O’Hanlon has joined the company as chief marketing officer.
O’Hanlon has more than two decades of experience leading marketing for technology companies that have achieved high growth and leadership positions by delivering differentiated value in emerging markets as well as in established ones. She will focus on helping DefenseStorm accelerate awareness and adoption of its distinctive approach to unifying cybersecurity and cybercompliance through solutions specifically designed for banking.
“This is an exciting time for DefenseStorm as we help financial institutions, particularly at the regional and community level, realize the power of integrating cybersecurity and cybercompliance so they work hand-in-hand to achieve and sustain Safety and Soundness objectives,” said Sean Feeney, DefenseStorm’s chief executive officer. “Terrie has a track record of helping to accelerate growth for companies that challenge conventions with new and better ideas that transform markets, which aligns nicely with DefenseStorm’s mission,” he added.
O’Hanlon has developed branding and go-to-market strategies for various companies in digital commerce, enterprise software, financial services and healthcare. Most recently, she served as chief marketing officer of Steelwedge, a company delivering cloud-based supply chain planning solutions that was acquired by E2open, a supply chain operating network company. Prior to that, O’Hanlon served as chief marketing officer for cloud-based healthcare solution provider, Brightree, before the company was acquired by ResMed (NYSE:RMD, ASX:RMD). Within the financial industry, she was executive vice president of marketing for CheckFree Corporation, a financial electronic commerce pioneer, where she helped fuel adoption of electronic billing and payments to transform how everyday consumers pay their bills. CheckFree was acquired by Fiserv for $4.4 billion in 2007.
“DefenseStorm is at the forefront of creating a seamless connection between cybersecurity and cybercompliance, delivered in a co-managed model that equips financial institutions to continuously protect cyber safety and soundness standards in real-time,” O’Hanlon said. “It’s an advanced model that recognizes old conventions can’t serve the new conditions being driven by the speed, scale and complexity of today’s digital landscape,” O’Hanlon added.
O’Hanlon’s career also includes executive marketing positions with WebMD Practice Services, Dun and Bradstreet Software and Per-Se Technologies, as well as consulting for a variety of leading technology companies through marketing agency roles. O’Hanlon holds a Master of Business Administration in Marketing from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Science in journalism from the University of Florida, where she was honored as valedictorian.
O’Hanlon is the recipient of numerous accolades for her accomplishments in marketing. She received a 2016 Gold Marcom Award and a 2015 Hermes Gold Creative Award. She was also honored in 2010 as a finalist for “CMO of the Year.” Additionally, O’Hanlon has been named multiple times by Georgia Women in Technology as a “Women of the Year” finalist.
“Terrie’s passion for establishing and driving brand recognition, combined with her strategic business acumen, will be invaluable for DefenseStorm. Working together, we anticipate ambitious and consistent growth for the company in the near future, as well as long-term,” Feeney concluded.
