VIENNA, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Merlin International, a leading cybersecurity and IT solutions provider, today announced that the company has been awarded contracts in excess of $80 million in the third quarter of 2017, critical to bolstering the cybersecurity posture of government healthcare. These solutions support a range of key cybersecurity initiatives including Governance, Risk and Compliance assessment, Electronic Health Record (EHR) database encryption, full network packet capture, enhanced network visibility and policy-based device control.
Through these contract awards, Merlin will provide:
-
Governance, Risk and Compliance
Merlin will deploy solutions to assess FISMA compliance. By identifying non-compliance within the healthcare IT infrastructure, remediation efforts can be focused on the highest risk areas. -
Enterprise Encryption Key Management
The lack of Electronic Health Record (EHR) database encryption has been identified as a Material Weakness in healthcare agency FISMA audits. Merlin will provide encryption and extremely secure and highly available key management to protect and manage the decryption keys. -
Next Generation Full Packet Capture
Internet connection gateways between agencies and the Internet, inspect, filter, and capture all network traffic to provide an after-the-fact detailed cyber-forensic investigative capability. Merlin is providing a solution that enables the level of data protection required by federal statute and effectively and efficiently analyzes data flows and potential security risks, for quicker resolution and remediation of potential threats. -
Network Access Control
Merlin will provide comprehensive visibility and control for more than 1.65 million internet-connected devices, one of the largest Internet-of-Things (IOT) security missions in the public sector. They will support the protection of government health records and other data from a growing landscape of cyber threats and meet requirements of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Continuous Diagnostic and Mitigation (CDM) initiatives.
“Merlin is proud of the success and momentum we are building with these recent contract wins that underscore our end-to-end cybersecurity capabilities,” said David Phelps, Chairman and CEO of Merlin International. “Today we manage cybersecurity, from end points to networks, from governance to risk management frameworks, from encrypting data-at-rest and data-in-motion, to full packet capture. As government agencies protect and provide for U.S. citizens, Merlin supports them behind the scenes in every aspect of their healthcare cybersecurity initiatives.”
